Social media consists of video, audio, text and multimedia that is published and shared in an online social environment, such as a blog, wiki or video-hosting site. In the current Internet landscape, it can be difficult to pinpoint the differences of social media with other forms of traditional online media. These instruments of communication enable users to disseminate information at an unparalleled speed, and are often used to spread news and information across the globe in minutes, or even seconds.

That said, it is necessary for the PE industry and its portfolio companies to confront the business challenges brought about by the spread of social media in the international community. We at CVCA believe that appropriate strategies are available to use all forms of social media in a way that is conducive to the PE industry, and that can assist with the development of the industry’s positive reputation.

CVCA is honored to invite Jon Wade, the head of Weber Shandwick's Digital Operations in Asia Pacific, and Antony Cheng, Associate Director of Digital Communications at Weber Shandwick China to bring us up-to-date information and in-depth perspectives on "Managing Brand Reputation Online". Jon and Antony will share their insights into the boom in social media, as well as some specific examples of good and bad uses in the international business world and in China. The aim will be to discuss the similarities and differences between domestic and international forms of social media, analyzing its importance in the market, and also to give advice to investors on ways to cope with the exponential growth of social media and deal with reputation management in the contemporary digital age. A Q&A session will also be available.

Registration starts at 13:30pm.

Seats are limited. Please make an early reservation to avoid disappointment.Registration onsite is not available.
