China Private Equity Buyout: Opportunities and Strategies

Following the success of its Governors Sharing Series last year CVCA is pleased to announce the launch of its Senior Executive Investment and Management Sharing Series. For the new series, in addition to continuing to invite CVCA governors to speak, we will also invite other senior executives and entrepreneurs to share their business experiences, best practices and case studies with you.

CVCA held a business luncheon, “China Private Equity Buyout: Opportunities and Strategies” on March 10, 2009, in the Beijing Hong Kong Jockey Club Clubhouse. Mr. Yichen Zhang, CEO of CITIC Capital gave a wonderful speech and shared CITIC Capital’s valuable experience in PE buyouts. He also analyzed some case-studies within the area of state assets, such as "Hayao" "Guanshengyuan (Group)" and "AVA Dairy". Given the current global economic crisis, Mr. Zhang analyzed the opportunities in China’s investment market from various perspectives and indicated that PE buyout will be in full swing at such a special time.

After the speech, Mr. Zhang discussed key issues with the audience, including a comparison between Finance M&A and Strategy M&A, and how to promote a company’s portfolio, value, etc. This discussion provided investors with precious insights and advice on how to seek PE buyout opportunities in China.
